The Allocation de Solidarité aux Personnes Agéesension fund if your income, family situation or place of residence changes. Paid by your pension fund, the amount varies according to your family situation. When you receive ASPA, it’s important to update your pension fund if your income, family situation or place of residence changes.
Amounts paid under the ASPA are recovered after the death of the beneficiary, only if the net assets of the estate reach a certain amount, determined by assets less debts.
To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:
1) Age
– You must be 65 or over.
– Veterans, deportees, internees or prisoners of war can obtain the ASPA before age 65, depending on their year of birth.
– Disabled or handicapped people can obtain ASPA at age 65, depending on their year of birth.
2) Resources
– If you are living as a couple, your income must not exceed €1,492.08 gross per month as of July 1, 2022.
– If you live alone, your monthly income must not exceed €961.08 gross.
3) Residence
– French nationals must be stable residents of France, with a permanent home or main place of residence in France for more than 9 months in the year of ASPA payment.
To apply for ASPA:
– If you are a single pensioner, contact the organization that pays your pension.
– If you have more than one pensioner, follow the order of priority for each scheme.
The amount varies according to the number of people receiving assistance:
– If only one member of the couple or a single person receives ASPA, the maximum monthly amount is €961.08, or €11,533.02 per year (gross amounts).
– If both members of the couple receive the ASPA, the maximum total monthly amount is €1,492.08, or €17,905.06 per year (gross amounts).
Limitations: the ASPA is an aid provided to pensioners in the form of an advance. At his/her death, if the pensioner inherits more than 100,000 euros (evolving amount), the aid granted will have to be reimbursed by the successors.
